The People of Angkor
FRANCE/2003/cambodian/Color/Video/90min
Director: Rithy Panh
In Angkor Wat, we follow a boy and his relationships with the people who live there, the ruins, and the tourists. The legends and magical stories depicted on the stones of the temple remains overlap with the reality of modern Cambodia. The lingering pain left by years of civil war, the gap between conditions in the cities and the countryside, and the thoughts of the boy who has lost sight of the future are conveyed at a leisurely rhythm with beautiful imagery that gently evokes emotion in the viewer. This director continues to portray Cambodia, face to face.

The Land of the Wandering Souls
FRANCE/2000/Cambodian/Color/Video/100min
Director: Rithy Panh
In war-ruined Cambodia a fiber-optic cable was being laid across the country. Though this created work for many Cambodians, they would never receive benefit from the cable themselves. As construction advanced across Asia, many in its path including farmers who have lost their land, demobilized soldiers, and poor families were forced to lead a nomadic lifestyle.

S21, the Khmer Rouge Killing Machine
FRANCE/2002/Cambodian/Color/Video/101min
Director: Rithy Panh
"S21" is the name of a former concentration camp for political prisoners in Cambodia. Former victims and tormentors caught up in the atrocities committed by the Khmer Rouge are reunited, and relive the inhumanity and cruelty of their days here. Facts that are brought to light by evidence presented here, and the vividness of the exchanges between two former adversaries transcend the twenty-five years that have passed. This film silently pulsates with the emotion felt by Cambodian-born director Rithy Panh toward his homeland.
